Debbie
Fishman, the executive director of the Jerusalem-based Keren Malki
Foundation visited the UIA offices in Melbourne where a cheque for
$10,500 was presented to the Foundation.
The UIA
Shlicha Amit Tzur-Tal told J-Wire: “From time to time, UIA
cooperates with other organisations and we do arrange joint
project.”
Rabbi
Goodhardt wrote on his blog: ”On Yom Yerushalayim this year (5772)
I went for a 45km bike ride to mark the 45th Anniversary of the
reunification of the Holy City, which I called The Great Jerusalem
Charity Bike Ride - to raise funds for Keren Malki, (The Malki
Foundation) and UIA. A large number of wonderful and generous people
pledged their support to me and the two guys who raised funds with
me - Jake Dessauer and Rabbi Shmuel Karnowsky. My son Eli also rode.
Altogether we raised a grand total of $11,175 and I would like thank
everyone who contributed and helped, especially the great team at
UIA who helped make the online donation process so easy.”
Malki Roth
was a Melbourne-girl 16-yr-old who died at the hands of a suicide
bomber in Jerusalem in 2001. The foundation raises funds for home
care for special-needs children. |
