Ireland's NEAR 90 FM radio remembers Malki, ten years on

Arnold Roth joined Michael FitzGerald on NEAR 90 FM's Global Solidarity program on 21st August 2011, shortly after the tenth anniversary of the Sbarro Jerusalem massacre that took Malki's life as well as the lives of fourteen other innocent civilian Israelis.

He spoke as a parent of how the trauma of this event affected him, his family and the community he belongs to. In a comprehensive interview Arnold Roth pays tribute to the memory and spirit of a daughter who will never grow old.

He uses the backdrop of the intifada to illustrate the nature of terrorism, but brings a very human touch to the interview by recalling personal memories of that fatal day. Arnold gives shocking details of the infrastructure that supports and sustains such atrocities, and some of the people behind the planning and execution of such brutal acts.

Without a trace of rancour or call for retribution, Arnold explains why the Malki Foundation is the most appropriate living tribute to Malki and the values she represents – even in death!
